Q: When I Close the Lid on my MBP, It Goes From "Sleep" to "Hibernate" Why?
My six-year-old MacBook Pro had been working perfectly until about a month ago, when it stopped staying in Sleep Mode when I closed the lid.
With the lid closed, it initially goes to sleep, but after about 30 seconds, it goes into hibernate mode and to power it on again, I have to push the power button. I then get It a greyed-out screen and no trackpad use. After a little while the gray screen goes away and the machine works perfectly.
The battery is fine (68%), I have reset the SMC and I haven't loaded any new software. The only thing I can think of is that this began happening around the time of the latest Safari update.
Anyone else having this problem? Input or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.
