Q: How can I use a photo in icloud photo sharing?

I am getting frustrated because I'm not able to drag a photo out of an icloud photo sharing album to use - for example, in an evernote note or in a powerpoint presentation. It seems to work if I first drag the photo to the desktop and then into the document I'm working on, but I don't want to do that if not necessary (too much to clean up on my desktop!).

I feel like I used to more easily see how to import the photos in an icloud photo sharing album into my own photos (upload?) but I'm not seeing this as an option. So an alternative question is, should I somehow be uploading these photo so have them saved in my photos library? My family uses icloud photo sharing a lot so I want to re-remember how to save some of these photos.

Between my phone and computer, I turned off photo sharing to save some space on my phone. But now it seems so difficult to get a few photos from my phone to my computer (other than attaching them via a wire). I just took a few photos with my phone and ended up using icloud photo sharing to get them into my computer but now I can't drag them into the document I'm working on.  Any suggestions??

Thanks!

Photos in shared albums have to be imported to Photos before you can use them - select them in the shared album and right click (control click) and import - then you can use them in Ph0otos how every you choose

If the destination software is up to date and supports OS X drag an drop then you can drag them to the application - or use the media browser or export to a desktop folder and use from there
