Q: "Shared" in finder window....who is it?

On my sidebar in my finder window has a heading called "shared". It says hpa08cfd6....  When I click on it I can see the following

General:

Kind: PC

Where: Network

More Info:

It keeps "fetching"

I don't know what this is or who this is. Can someone explain this to me and /or how to get rid of them if they are some random person tapping into my

iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013), OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

Do you have a wireless printer? It could be that.

To verify your Sharing settings, go into System Preferences > Sharing.

In here you will be able to see what Sharing settings you have active and inactive.

The Sharing tab you are referencing is just showing available networks nearby. it doesn't mean that you are connected to them. No need to worry!

    Cheers!

Sounds like an HP wireless printer with a MAC address "a0:8c:fd:6..."?
