Q: iOS photo cache problem

how do we clean the photo cache in iOS? When on travel or for some events I will record a lot of videos (1080 at 60fps) after i transferred them to my computer I will delete them from my phone but it still takes up a lot of storage, can up to 10GB like they are never deleted!! this is really horrible, like now again, nearly 10GB has been taken up... The only thing I know to remove them is to restore the whole iOS, but this is not an easy job and very stupid.. Could someone help me to free up my storage?

last time when my phone left 11gb I was so curious because I couldn't figure out which part went wrong then my iCloud Photo Library keep prompting me to optimise my photo as I chose download original, I have enough storage as my phone is 128Gb, until I felt very frustrated and restored my phone then i got back my 40gb available storage, now again, just back from a trip and all videos have been transferred to my computer and deleted from phone but i only left 25gb now... nearly 10gb is cache

PLease help me

    Hello averynkh,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Community. I know how important it is to keep your storage well managed on your iPhone, and I think i may be able to help. In iOS9 the photos app added a Recently Deleted function that acts a lot like the trashcan on a Mac or the Recycling Bin on a PC.

In you photos app if you tap on "Albums" at the bottom of the screen there should be one specifically for recently deleted items. Check to see if that album has any of the videos or photos you've deleted. Here you can select and permanently delete any items you wish.

If you continue to see that storage taken up or run into any other concerns, please let us know. The whole community is here to help.
    Best Regards

    HI Joe,

yeah, I forgotten to say that I certainly will empty that folder each time but the storage still occupied... Even last time before I restore was the same, I just believe it is cache of the Photo app
