My wife and I receive each other's texts. How to fix?

Hi, my wife and I are receiving each other's text messages. As you can imagine, it's very confusing to figure out which of us people are texting.

I've tried to fix it by standard poking around the settings of iMessenger and iCloud on my iPhone and Macbook as well as my Apple ID, but no luck. I found a tick box in settings for iMesenger on my Macbook with her phone number and I unchecked it, but I still get her messages.

I think the cause is that I associated my wife's number with iMessenger on my Macbook. Also, in the past we've both signed into each other's iCloud accounts on both our iPhones. Any ideas?

Go to your settings, then Messages and then click on Send & Receive and see if both numbers are showing there! if they are the. On your device just check your number and on her phone just check her number. This was the common problem when I saw this with my customers at AT&T.

I signed out of iCloud on all our devices (her iPhone 6S and iPad and my iPhone SE and Macbook Pro). Once all were logged out, I logged them all back into the appropriate accounts.

I logged into iCloud online with both of our accounts. Only her devices are listed on her account and only mine are listed on my account.

I sent my wife a text from my iPhone and immediately received my own text, confirming the issue persists.
