Security Update Breaks Apps?

Hi! After installing Security Update 2016-001 El Capitan this morning, a couple of my usual apps crash on open. This includes Fade In and QuickTime Player 7. The headers to the errors are included below. I've restarted and reinstalled both apps. Not sure if the crash report info would be helpful, but I've included the headers of both below. Thanks for your help!

That's awful. Which part?

Upon further investigation it's been discovered that the crash happens immediately after the system starts to launch the apps. Whereas in a normal stack trace, the Binary Images list has a hundred or more entries, the crash seems to happen at the system level in dyld before the apps are even loaded.

I just restored from a Time Machine backup from this morning before installing the update. The apps work fine. Will stay that way until there's a fix.

After restoring from a Time Machine backup, I reinstalled the security update with the intent of subsequently moving the contents of /Users/yourname/Library/Caches to the Trash. But I tested both apps before doing that and now they work. Maybe the original security update download was somehow corrupted? In any event, thanks for the help!
