Q: iPod video 5th Gen Bluetooth adapter trouble

HI.

I've just bought a Bluetooth adaptor to go with my 5th gen iPod video and every time I connect the adapter I get the following message (see pic). ive tried soft resets and plugging it in before I power on the iPod but no joy. Any help would be greatly appreciate.

Is this particular device supposed to be compatible with iPod classic 5th gen?

no its one i got from ebay. it works fine on my ipod touch though.

I suspect there isn't much to be done then. If it doesn't specifically claim support for the older model then it could well be using the various connections in a way that confuses the classic model into issuing that error message.

ok thanks for your reply. ill be sending this one back as the description said it was fine with ipod videos. just not compatible with 1st or 2nd gen ipods

If it is supposed to work with that generation then the other possibilities are that your device is damaged or there is something lodged in the docking port causing the problem.
