how do I convert IPV6 to IPV4 for a single web site in Safari?

ACCORDING TO VERIZON WIRELESS (MY IP PROVIDER) MY "INTERNET INSTALLED" CANTENNA/MODEM HAS TROUBLE DELIVERING LARGE-BIT IPV6 PACKETS AS IT WAS DESIGNED BACK IN 2010 WHEN IPV4 WAS THE NORM. THEY APPARENTLY HAVEN'T FIGURED OUT HOW TO UPGRADE THEIR HARDWARE/SOFTWARE AS OF YET. I KNOW THAT THERE IS A WAY TO ONVERT IPV6 TO IPV4 WITHIN PREFERENCES, BUT IT SEEMS TO BE FOR DEVICES ONLY. IS THERE A WAY TO CONVERT THE OUTGOING IPV6 TO AN IPV PACKET STRUCTURE FOR THE YAHOO MAIL SITE ONLY?

You don't "convert IPv6 to IPv4. Either whoever you're talking about at Verizon is completely clueless, or something is getting lost in translation.

Why don't you start by explaining what your actual problem is and we'll work from there.

O.K. - many web sites are using the current IPV6 (128-bit) while my Verizon system's architecture is happiest with IPV4 (32-bit). When I try to log in to Yahoo mail (uses IPV6) my Verizon modem can't handle the 128-bit packets and "hangs".

Websites do not use IPV6 nor IPV4. Those are ip protocols that handle identification and location for routing. Try power cycling your router/modem.

I would try BobTheFisherman advice above.

Try modifying your IPv6 settings—however I am unclear if this will solve your issue.

You can modify your IPv6 settings using Link-local, Automatic, Manual ... with devices on your network.

~/Applications/Utilities/Airport Utility.app>Edit>Internet>Internet Options>

Enable IPv6 Connection Sharing (what happens if you disable this option?)

AirPort Utility 6.x: Modify IPv6 settings

Airport doesn't come into play here as the Mac is hard-wired to a 3rd party modem.

Hello !

Gustapus

Please open spotlight and type air port utility and click on base station edit option .

Then again select network , click on network options check the boxes of IPV6 and and allow incoming IPSec ( internet protocol security ) authentication . now your connection will be on IPV4 .
