Wifi and Ethernet settings-panels switched content?! and ethernet not working

I'm not certain what you mean by "it"? 🙂

Anyways, the Wi-Fi part seems to be about Wi-Fi (pasted below), albeit Wi-Fi and ethernet seems to be switched in the System Preferences and in the System Information windows (do you agree on this, or am I completely mistaken?).

While it doesn't show up in the App Store, it does show up when I look in /Library/Receipts/InstallHistory.plist (relevant part pasted below)… I think it might be because I installed it from the commandline using sudo softwareupdate -ia.

But the problem was also there long before the 2016-005 update – but I guess that's not to say that the update could also interfere with my system as well :/

Didn't solve my problem – notice the contents of the settings-panel: When I select Wi-Fi in the side panel, the contents relates to Ethernet, and vice versa when I select Ethernet 😟
