Q: Mac always opens with a Google page

A new problem: in the last few days, whenever I start up my Mac, Safari opens with a Google accounts page! There is nothing either in Safari preferences or in the login items in System Preferences to account for this. Any suggestions for preventing this will be most welcome.

    Hello ! Michael Graubart

As you have written in the post there is nothing in login items that sound's great .The answer for your question is :

Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click General and make sure that "Close windows when quitting an app" is selected. If this option isn't selected, Safari opens to your specified page only if that page was open when you last quit Safari.

    Thanks !
