Q: Photos from SLR not in iCloud Drive
I Recently had to format my MacBook Pro to be able to get it running smoothly again. Since I had way too many things to be able to fit everything onto my external hard drive with Tone Machine, I ended up upgrading my iCloud storage and moved all my picture folders into iCloud Drive. I was confident that everything would be safe, after all it took over 6 hours and the status bar kept updating me on how many of my over 14,000 images are still being copied to iCloud Drive. Once it was completed, I opened iCloud Drive to make sure all my folders were there, but did not open all of them to double check their contents. I formatted the hard drive, reinstalled OS X, and I'm crushed to find that the most recent folders are empty with the exception of a few images from my cell phone. None of the most recent few thousand images that I originally imported into Photos from my SLR's memory card are there. Even my original iCloud photo storage saved only my mobile pics.
I need to clarify that I moved all my images from Photos into folders in the finder to better organize them, and because I was still hoping at the time that it would free up enough memory to get around the formatting, and cleared out my Photos library. Bad mistake.
Is there any type of "recently deleted"'folder for the Cloud??
I'm barely finding my way around these things as it is, so any help would be appreciated.
THanks in advance!
MacBook Pro
