    Hello elcabalen,

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. I know how important getting your Mac working again properly is to you! Based on what you stated, it seems you may be having issues after updating the OS X software on your Mac and you're not able to start up your Mac normally. Here is what I suggest to resolve this issue and get your Mac working again:

    1. First, use "safe mode" to start up your Mac so that it performs certain checks, delete system cache files, verifies your startup disk, and attempts to repair directory issues if needed.

Try safe mode if your Mac doesn't finish starting up
Limited graphics performance in OS X recovery or safe mode

    2. If you're able to start up to the safe mode login screen, try running First Aid on your hard drive with the built in Disk Utility tool, as this can correct simple issues like you're experiencing.

Disk Utility (El Capitan): Repair a disk

    3. If you're not able to start up into safe mode, try starting up into OS X Recovery mode, and run the same First Aid in the Disk Utility tool in OS X Recovery mode. Then restart your Mac into Safe Mode again.

    Cheers!
