Q: Confident I have the most complex airdrop issue of all
Okay. Here we go.
I am a wedding photographer. Airdrop is a huge part of my workflow and I (used to) use it daily.
Early 2015 MBP 13" Retina. Have used airdrop with no issues for months, and one day no luck.
-One day just up and quit working. Hasn't worked since. No changes in any capacity during that timeframe to cause any problems.
-Have done all of the generic info sheet suggestions: Turn on/off bluetooth, erase preference files, yes it is set to everyone, no personal hotspot is not on. Have reset pram, fresh install of osx on macbook, factory reset and restore on iphone. You name it, I have tried it.
-The iPhone will on occasion see the macbook, however, in the options of who to send for airdrop, other devices names show up black whereas my macbook shows up gray. I can successfully send to the mbp from the phone, but it never sees the iphone as an option. This is not always working, but regardless the MBP never sees the phone.
-Both devices on same icloud. Both on the same network. Have tried on other networks with no luck. Also, if its any hint towards a problem, my MBP also has intermittent wireless connectivity that no other devices in my home experience. It will show a solid connection but off and on just not have internet connectivity. Repair wireless will end up resetting stuff and drop connection altogether. Sometimes can't re connect to network for a long while.
I have been off and on with apple support with this issue and have had no legitimate luck with solving this issue whatsoever. Extremely frustrating.
Any help would be amazing!
