Q: When I go to sync my new iPhone with iTunes I get an error saying I need to download latest version of iTunes.  When I try to download it says I using the latest version?

I have an iPhone SE

my iTunes is on my HP Home addition laptop running Windows Vista. (32bit not 64)It isn't capable of upgrading to Windows 7.

when I plug in my iPhone to sync it with iTunes it gives an error message saying I need to download the latest version of iTunes.  When I try to do that I get a message saying my iTunes is up to date with latest version of iTunes?   Could it be that because my laptop is only running vista it cannot support the latest version?  if that is the problem I wish the iTunes download center would say the my device cannot support the latest version of iTunes.  the version i currently have is the only one my device can download.

HOw do I access my iTunes library other than buying a new laptop

The iPhone SE will not run with Vista. It is not supported. Cannot remember where I saw it, but there was something about Windows Vista not being supported for the iPhone SE. I'll keep looking.

Found it, at the bottom of the iTunes download page from support.  Download iTunes 12.1.3 for Windows (32 bit)

This update allows you to sync your iPhone*, iPad*, or iPod touch with iOS 9.x and earlier on Windows XP and Windows Vista PCs.

*iPhone SE and iPad Pro (9.7-inch) is not supported on Windows XP or Windows Vista.

Sorry, but in order to sync an iPhone running iOS 9, you must have iTunes 12.3 or higher. Since your PC is indicating that it is on the most current version of iTunes, then that means it cannot run 12.3, and whatever version it is on, that is the highest it can run.

    Best of luck,

That doesn't sound like "the same problem" at all. Perhaps you should start our own thread.

ChrisJ4203's response was correct. The last iTunes version to support Vista and XP was 12.1.3, which is now a year old. It does support iOS 9, but does not support the new iPhone SE or iPad Pro. However the release of iOS 10 is just around the corner now, and it will most likely be impossible to support any upgraded mobile device on Vista or XP.

You can download your music to your phone (if you have a Wifi connection) through the iTunes Store app on your phone.

Open the iTunes Store App, click on More>Purchased>Music>Not on this Phone, then you can select All Songs, and all of your iTunes purchased songs will display with a little cloud next to them. You can click on the cloud to selectively download, or you can click on Download All in the upper right-hand corner to download all of them. If you have a lot of music, I would not recommend using Download All.

    Best of luck,
