Shortcut to move cursor to end/beginning of line

⌘+ arrow key doesn't seem to do it even though that is what the apple support page says

Mac keyboard shortcuts - Apple Support

Wikipedia says the same thing, but also adds Control + A or Control + E as options, but they seem to move it to the begging or end of the paragraph or sentence rather than the line.

Strangely, if iTunes is playing in the background, ⌘+ arrow key will change tracks so i wonder if this is why it no longer works in Pages or Notes? Closing iTunes just means the shortcut does nothing rather than restoring functionality to other apps.

Ok, so did the Safe Mode restart and it works as advertised both on a Guest login and my login. When i restart not in Safe Mode the shortcut no longer works on my login. It does work on other logins for my family members though. I checked the Shortcuts settings under Keyboard, but couldn't see it listed there. Any other suggestions? I will try restoring the default shortcuts (even though i don't remember changing any) and see if that helps.

So, it's not working for me in any app...Pages, Notes, TextEdit, Evernote etc etc. It's funny though because it's only the left and right arrows that don't work. The up and down arrows work as advertised taking me to the beginning of end of the document.

And i just tested and it works fine on my iMac running El Capitan.

I'll try the restart in Safe Mode and see how we go.

Thanks
