Q: Icloud Photo Sync with Window 10

Morning all,

I have an Iphone 6 and an Ipad Pro.

I am currently going through a process of cleaning up my libary on my Qnap Nas and I want to be able to calalouge my photos a bit better. I previously used Iphoto on my 08 Macbook but sadly this has passed onto the Silicon Gods in the Sky

In Windows I have my Qnap set as my default save location for all my Documents and Picture. This means when I load up Icloud for Windows they acutomatically save on my Nas

Back to the Sync. So currently the sync works between my Ipad and Iphone. I have a 50gb Icloud storage and planning to up this to 1gb if this works. I have couple of folders in IOS Photos > Albums (e.g Cars, Trips) they replicate on both IOS devices.

Issue is they do not appear on Icloud for windows, How do I get this folder structure to appear?

Second issue is how can i bulk upload Folder structures to Icloud to appear in  IOS Photo > Albums. At present if I place pictures (in a folder) in the Upload folder in Icloud on Windows they upload OK but the folder structure does not work.

This works fine if I use the Icloud Drive but I want to actually view them in the Photo App

Sadly this works this way in Google Photo's but I don't want to have to use another 3rd Party App. Espeically since most Google Apps (maps and chrome) zap the battery.

Any help would be great.

Mike

    See this --

Get help using My Photo Stream - Apple Support

Add the photos using the Add Photos button in iCloud Photos:

    1. Open a File Explorer window (Windows 8 or 8.1) or Windows Explorer window (Windows 7).
    2. Under the Favorites menu, click iCloud Photos.
    3. Double-click My Photo Stream.
    4. Click Add photos.
    5. Select the photos that you'd like to add and click OK.
Or you can copy photos from a folder to the iCloud Photos Uploads folder:
    1. Confirm the location of your Uploads folder.
    2. Open iCloud for Windows 4.0 (or iCloud Control Panel).
      • In Windows 8.1, go to the Start screen, click the down arrow win_all_apps.png in the lower-left corner, then click the iCloud app.
      • In Windows 8, go to the Start screen, then click the iCloud tile.
      • In Windows 7, choose Start menu > All Programs > iCloud > iCloud.
    3. Click the Options button next to iCloud Photos.
    4. Open a File Explorer window (Windows 8 or 8.1) or Windows Explorer window (Windows 7).
    5. Go to the iCloud Photos folder location listed in iCloud for Windows 4.0 (or iCloud Control Panel).
    6. Open the Uploads folder.
    7. Open the folder that contains the photos that you want to add to My Photo Stream.
    8. Copy them into the Uploads folder.

Thanks' for your reply but I mean this in the kindest way. If you had actually read what I posted you would see my issue with uploading the folder structure and not images.

Apologies if I misunderstood.  As far as I know, folders can't be uploaded to iCloud.
