Sep 3, 2016 6:14 PM in response to bjh333by SGIII,You could do that after running a script that changes formulas to text in cells. However, if OpenOffice already does that why not File > Export to > Excel ... and open that file in OpenOffice and export in whatever way already does what you want? I can't think of a use case with Numbers.

Sep 3, 2016 7:43 PM in response to SGIIIby bjh333,Yes. I know. I am just curious about "hidden power" of Numbers and compatibility is always my concern.
BTW Numbers 3 cannot convert text string to values in csv file while numbers 2 can do that.

The importing app tries to figure out which columns contain number values and which contain non-numerical values. Your question seemed to be about exporting from Numbers, not importing into Numbers. If you are importing csv into numbers then I think you'll find it does a pretty good job In most cases. Perhaps you could give more specifics on what you are looking for.
