how do i change my name on itunes u?

hi. i recently started using my ipad for school,i'm using my familys apple id that we share to login.When i went into itunes u i discovered that my mothers name was being used instead of mine and that i was unable to change it, i went through all the settings changing them to my name wherever i can and i still have no access to change my name.please help!
