Accidently overwrote a file, how do I get it back?

After recording some footage for youtube, I saved it, but it had the same name as another file in my downloads. I thought that it would just do something like change the filename to "Screen Recording(2)" but it deleted the file. I can't find the file in my trash can and that was 2 hours of footage lost, I'm pretty annoyed about that. Does anyone know how I can retrieve the file?
