Q: Music files uploaded or matched No Longer Available?

First I should say that I used to be an iTunes Match subscriber, then added Apple Music. After that I stoped my iTunes Match subscription from renewing and all my matched songs stayed matched after the ending date.

 

Now I have this problem with several CD rips songs that were matched or uploaded to iCloud Music Library. These songs can't be played on my iPhone (without the original file) because the music player says that they are "no longer available".

 

I know that when a label pulls its music from streaming, the tracks in the music library are dimmed and show a "No Longer Available" status, but what I am describing should probably not happen, since, as I say, the files are rips or purchases.

 

You should only see No Longer Available for tracks that you added from Apple Music to your iTunes library, not for local tracks that were matched or uploaded.

 

Can somebody help with this issue?

 

iTunes 12.4.3.1 (Windows)

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.3.5

    I think you're assuming that everything that had previously been uploaded or matched as a component of your iTunes Match subscription should have been automatically converted into an element of your Apple Music collection when you didn't renew iTunes Match. While that would certainly be the most favourable outcome for you I don't think it is a reasonable assumption. iTunes Match or Apple Music the only safe option is to keep at least one library with all the original media, and back that up. Then if anything goes wrong with a cloudy version you can go back to the source.

    I think it's a bug.

     

    I removed one of the uploaded CDs that was marked as "Not Longer Available" from my library and added the songs from a back up and iTunes uploaded them and the iCloud status is the correct one: "Uploaded", I can now play those songs in my iPhone.

     

    In fact, I noticed most of the iCloud status flags are missing or only showing Apple Mucic.
