Q: 9.3.5 installed then screen went out HELP!

I installed 9.3.5 on an iPhone6 while doing so it went through the normal sequence then when it looked like it was finished the phone got really hot then the screen went out! I tried resetting it no luck. I can hear the screen clicks when I touch it but no light or display. What should I do? No apple care but this happened during the course of installing an update what role will/can apple play in getting me a new phone! This is the 2nd iPhone of mine to do this and I'm tired of paying for it.

iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.5, null

Sounds like a display issue.  But since none of us here can evaluate your phone, your best bet is to take the phone to Apple for diagnostics.  As the phone is not under warranty, you will likely be eligible for an out-of-warranty replacement.  Discuss this with the genius at the Apple store.

Try holding down the Home and Wake/Sleep buttons at the same time for about 15 seconds until the Apple logo appears. You will not lose anything.

If a restart does not help try a System Restore. First backup your device using iTunes. Also import your photos to your computer and copy all important data if possible. Try restoring from backup first and testing it. If it does not help, you may have to restore as New and reconfigure from scratch as the backup could be corrupted. For this reason it is important to have your photos and data saved separately from the backup. Here are the steps for a Restore:

If the above steps do not help, you may have to have it tested at an Apple store.
