Q: Apple Mac running slow

My Apple Mac running slow - can anybody help me - I don't have time machine configured and have tried to do it but it can't find Other time capsule - says internet connection Disconnected.  I cannot use this report to clear up the adware as I don't have time capsule configured.  Any help appreciated!
