iPad freezes after doing the most recent update

My wife's iPad freezes after the most recent update: IOS 9.3.5. Her iPad Model Number is MC733LL/A and it has a 16 Gig hard drive. After initiating an update the iPad freezes and becomes non-responsive. Is there anything that can be done to correct this problem so that her iPad no longer freezes?

Try these standard troubleshooting steps.

Reset: hold down the Home and Power buttons until you see the Apple logo (10-15 seconds).

If this doesn't help, you might need to Restore your iPhone: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204184

If your backup is to iTunes, make sure it's an encrypted backup.
