Q: Ignoring app store updates

I bought a program that didn't work and I got a refund from the Mac App store for it.  However, whenever an update happens for the app, I get a notice that there is a new version. The "ignore update" is no longer an option.  How can I block this app from showing me there are new versions?

Mac mini, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

Log into the App Store, navigate to your Purchases, select the App, then Hide it. Hidden apps do not get update notifications.

You don't see updates for apps that aren't installed somewhere on your Mac. On the HDD or an attached external drive, like a backup.
