While I record the wave equally fills the top and bottom of the window you see in this graphic. As soon as I stop record, it shrinks from the top and weighs down the bottom as depicted here:
My output is Stereo Out, though. That shouldn't be Mono, right?

What you're seeing is the tonal characteristic of the sound you are recording. Don't worry about it. Its fine unless it sounds wrong. Does it?
