Mail app: deleting stuck folder from Favorite Bar

I use Mail's Favorite bar quite often; it is populated with several folders which receive emails based on Rules.

There is one folder however that I simply cannot delete by click/drag. The puff of smoke shows up but the folder remains in the bar.

Anyone have another way of removing stubborn folders?

Thanks.

Hi ! FrankMtl

i have read your question how to remove stubborn folder in the mail side bar , it is really a big concern .

This folder is a smart mail box showing gear icon .

User uploaded file

To remove it , select it and right click on it and click on erase deleted items .

A window will appear like this

If you want to erase it , the items inside will be completed deleted , make sure this cannot be undone .

I have found an article : Mail (El Capitan): Create or delete mailboxes

Hope so it would be helpful .

Thanks !

Thanks you both for your answer however, I was not referring to the Sidebar but the Favorites bar which sits beneath the buttons bar in which you can drag folder/mailboxes to access them quickly.

Control-click is not recognized by the items in the Fave bar.

I found the solution:

I emptied the offending mailbox and deleted it (as per both your instructions). Once deleted, I was able to delete the mailbox from the Fave bar by dragging it out; similar to deleting items form the dock.

Below is a pic showing my Fave bar; the stubborn mailbox was Torrnews.
