Q: Can I back up my IPhone content to DVDs

I have owned I Phones from the 3 to my current 6 plus. Also in about 5 months I will be buying the newest I Phone. I always felt the best backup I ever made of the content of my phone was when I used DVDs as the backup media. But I just noticed that is not an option any more. One Am I correct and Two Is there any way to still use DVDs or Blue Ray disks as backup media. I am using a Windows 10. 64 bit desktop with 32Gb of Ram an Intel I7 4770 Processor with a BR writer and a BR reader with Nero 2016 Platinum edition software. Any help would be much appreciated

iOS devices have always been backed up using iTunes or iCloud.

If you back up using iTunes, you might be able to capture a backup on DVD by backing up your computer to a DVD. The iOS device itself cannot be captured this way.

I don't remember ever being able to backup an iPhone directly to a DVD (but that may just be due to my memory).
