Does the iMac create lots of fan noise with 2 TB displays connected?

The 15" Macbook Pro creates a lot of fan noise when external displays are connected: Fan Speed increases with Thunderbolt Display

My question is: Does the current-gen iMac have the same issue or is the fan noise lower with external displays?
