Ipad air wont connect to 5G wi fi after 9.3.5 update

ipad air wont connect to 5G wi fi after 9.3.5 update, or if it does will stop after a couple of hours, connected with no issues before the update

will connect with no problems to 2.4

all other devices at my home connect fine so this is related to the recent 9.3.5 update

have tried

1 resetting wifi network settings on ipad

2. Forgetting the network on ipad and then reconnecting, renewing lease

3 turned modem router on and off

4. Forcing a restart on my ipad

"Works for me." Have you checked your network config against Apple's recommendations here Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points - Apple Support?Particularly, make sure your WiFi is using WPA2-AES (CCMP) encryption with no dual-mode or TKIP.
