Q: Lost images downloaded to Photos pre-iPhoto merge

I downloaded images into Photos prior to merging my iPhoto library into the program. Now I cannot find the images I had previously downloaded. Is there a way to recover them?

We can not help unless you provide details

what other program did you use to "merge" your iPhoto library into Photos? (That is not possible so what ever you did is likely the cause and the only likely answer will be to restore your backup fro before you did this)

Did you open your iPhoto Library in Photos for Mac?  Then Photos will have created a new library since it cannot merge libraries. Check, if your old library is still there:

    • Quit Photos , if it is running.
    • Hold down the options key while you launch Photos again. Keep holding down the options key, until you are seeing the library chooser panel.

Does Photos show a second Photos Library? Then open the other library. Are your older photos in the other library?
