Q: iPhoto update messages

I have an iMac running El Capitan 10.11.6. I do not have iPhoto installed on my computer but the App Store keeps reminding me to update the app. How do I stop the reminder?

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014), OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

Do you have a copy of iPhoto on any connected backup drive? Spotlight must be seeing iPhoto somewhere installed, if you get update prompts.

I have checked Spotlight and it cannot find iPhoto anywhere.

Have you looked in your Applications folder to be sure iPhoto is not there?

Then you may need to rebuild the Spotlight index. The procedure is described here:
