Q: Macbook Pro - having to turn "off" then back "on" wi-fi

Ive been having this issue for sometime now, and have never got into really looking into it. My wifi seems to just stall out on my Macbook Pro (2015) and the only way to fix it is by turning wi-fi off, then right back on. Seems to correct it most of the time. i thought it was just my home network, however does it when I am out. Thus far: I've ran all the updates, turned off/on, changed networks....still the issue continues.

Not sure what to do from here.

Thanks

    Hello !

               StarrFavre

Yeah, it sometimes makes uneasy if any thing goes wrong in the system .

I will surely give some suggestions .

To start, if you are using your network at home some settings in network are as followed :

( a) location should be kept as automatic , password must be created , and keep security as WPA2 personal AES , check the box remember networks this computer has joined .

( b) I prefer google DNS server so keep as 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

( c) keep all proxies unchecked and make sure option use Passive FTP mode ( PASV ) as checked.

Also when you take the system out side for example at restaurant , you must have to ask the password  from them to join the network .

And when you come back to your home if  settings as stated above are done your system will be joined automatically to your wifi network .

One more important point to be considered is correct settings on your modem , as i don't know about your service provider .

If you are using air port express the password for it must be also created , and settings should be correct .

There are many factors for wi -fi  connectivity .

Some articles that i have found it may help you : OS X El Capitan: Choose preferred wireless networks

: OS X El Capitan: Set advanced Wi-Fi options

: OS X El Capitan: Change the priority of your network connections

: OS X El Capitan: If you can’t connect to the Internet

    Regards ,

                      Thanks .
