I need a bit of help with my voice memos, I use an iPhone 5S. Whenever I try to record my phone just detects the touch when the record button is hit & immediately cancels the recording. It had been restored from the back up of another iPhone which records memos without any hassle.

Still facing the same problem after trying all of the resolutions you have provided.
The interesting part is that the original iPhone which I restored from is working 100%, which I use as a back up.

What we'd like you to try now, is first make sure that you have a current backup of this iPhone. This article will help you create a new backup:

Once you have a current backup, please use the following resource to restore your iPhone to factory settings:
Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings
Make sure to set up the iPhone as new, and then test to see if you get the same result when recording.

Apologies on taking so long to respond.
I have tried what you suggested & it worked fine when the device was reset & running as a new device, however, as soon as I restored it to the latest backup, it still gives the same issue.
Hey, try removing and reinstalling the Voice Memo app. Worked for me.
How can uninstall an embed app?
It's possible with iOS 10, see Remove built-in Apple apps from the Home screen on your iOS device with iOS 10 - Apple Support
Be careful. If you wish to restore remember it's Voice Memos, not Voice Memo. If you search for Voice Memo in the App Store you will not find it.
