Q: Can't open Pages files saved in my iCloud folder

If I create a pages file on my iMac and save it in my iCloud folder, I can't open it from that location if I need to access it again. The only way I can open it is by logging in to iCloud, and opening it from that location. Can anyone please let me know if that process is correct, or do I need to change a setting somewhere to allow me to open my files from the local iCloud folder on my iMac. I don't have any issues opening MS Word documents. Any help on this issue would be appreciated.

Launch Pages, and when the Open File Chooser appears, click on the iCloud Drive Favorite entry, and then navigate to the document, whether it is in your Pages folder, or another folder. Click on it, and then select Open.

If that does not work, navigate to the document in the Finder, and then while pressing the option key, drag the file to your Desktop. Double-click to open in Pages.
