Q: Address change

GOt an email from Apple saying my shipping/billing address had been changed. So I went on apples website and checked everything nothing had been changed but I changed my password just in case. No strange purchases had been made on my account. Any ideas what happened?

You might have been directed to spoofed site. To confirm everything is OK, log into your account directly, not thru the link provided in the email. If there are suspected issued, contact Apple security support.

It was a phishing scam, but you did all the right things. Delete the email and never click on links or call the phone numbers in such emails. No harm done.

but the email was from applid.@id.apple.com, and the link took me to the apple website?

I loged into my account and everything looked fine. the only weird thing I noticed was in my address after my zip code there was a -6249. Before when i looked at my address I only looked at my street address, not my zip code.

I have since reviewed the email, and i am 99% sure the link goes to the real apple website.

The URL is totally bogus. Apple's URL is: appleid.apple.com. I do not have any Apple links that have an @ in them, and when I typed in your website, my Mac indicated that the site did not require authorization, and might be trying to trick me. It's a phishing scam as Rysz said.
