Q: Cinema Display 20-inch (DVI)
Hello, I recently purchased an Apple Cinema DIsplay 20-inch (DVI) 2005 Model via resale.
I purchased a DVI to MiniDisplay Port adapter so that I could connect the display to my Macbook Pro 6,2 (15-inch) 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7 mid-2010 model. I have an Nvidia GeForce 330M graphics card with 512 MB of RAM in both my Macbook Pro as well as the Cinema Display.
When I connect the Cinema Display via MiniDisplay Port, I have an extremely unclear picture. The gamma is completely wrong and I tried to calibrate the display via the Expert Mode configuration in System Preferences, however I cannot achieve a clear picture without parts of the screen flickering and red dots everywhere. None of the display profiles that shipped with the computer are working well. I was able to make it a little bit better with calibration, but still extremely unclear. I then downloaded a program called Gamma Control and was able to get rid of the horrible red lines but was left with a terribly light screen. There is not much contrast, and everything feels oversaturated. I don't know if there is something wrong with this display or if there is any way to fix this issue.
Can anybody help me with this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
