Q: Ipod80Gb is missing in itunes windows10

My name es Jorge Alberto M.,

This problem which I am realizing that I have something serious, since I can not use the iPod, the computer recognizes but it blocks the iTunes and when I access it as an external hard drive, it takes quite some time.

I put in a situation: as a matter of month and a half ago, the iPod I was working perfectly until it synced, silly me disconnect it from "unsafe" manner. Minutes later turn on the iPod to enjoy the new synchronized music to my surprise there was nothing inside but the iPod he gave the same amount of space used.

Upon returning home, I decided to try again to synchronize, but the iTunes collapsed, without letting me use giving me the following error after disconnecting:

I quote

iTunes can not read the contents of the iPod. Go to the Summary tab in iPod preferences and click Restore to restore the original factory settings iPod.

Obviously I can not do, since iTunes collapses. But it is not the only application that collapses, I tried to make a disk check using Windows to check any errors it may contain, but not start.

Note that the error began with the previous version of iTunes, a few days ago officially I upgraded my version of Windows Vista to Windows 10, and thereby to the latest version of iTunes. Reading the forum, I discovered a restore original every X time factory, however since the beginning of 2008 I bought my iPod I have not done any restoration, except syncs the library that would not necessarily affect the iPod.

I thought of making a disk format from Windows 10, but as discussed is not good, apart from the original software would lose and sometimes is not restorable.

I own an iPod Classic 80GB.

    Hi, Jam007!

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. After reading your post, it looks like iTunes is not detecting your iPod Classic so you are unable to manage its content or restore the device. I know how important and convenient it is to use iTunes to manage your iPod, and want to help!

I suggest going through the article linked below; it will guide you through troubleshooting steps to help get iTunes to see your iPod so you can use iTunes to manage your iPod's content again.

If iTunes doesn‘t recognize your iPhone, iPad, or iPod

Start with the very first section at the to. If iTunes still does not communicate with your iPod continue under the "If you use a Windows PC" section.

    Cheers!
