Q: what is wrong with my 2012 mac that the latest security upload will take two days...not possible

My iMac is 2012, updated to Capitan...trying to upload latest update 2016-001, and message is one-two days upload time.  What's going on?

iMac (27-inch Mid 2011), 10.11.6
