Q: Photos not transferring to macbook

I have failed several times to transfer my massive photos library from my iMac to my MacBook.  Everything else went OK.  I used screen sharing and also tried to do this via a thumb drive.  Every time I get a failed message after a short time.  I really only want to bring in my latest album of 100 photos that I just added to the iMac after a vacation.  I have many albums titled with each trip and this one is all that needs to move, but I cannot figure out how to do just the new album.  In the past, after each trip, I would just bring the entire photos library over but this time I have struck out.  Please let me know how to do this one way or another.

Thanks.

Sorry but with no information except that you have a problem we can not help

What version of the OS and of Photos do you have? What is the exact and complete error message (clearly that is critical to our helping you resolve this)

You can move the photos by selecting them on one system and exporting to a desktop folder then dragging that folder to ta thumb drive and importing them into the other system and create your album from the last import album

    Thanks for the reply.

It is version 1.3 of photos and version 10.11.3 of the OS.

What I REALLY would like to do is to be able to just choose the new folder with 105 pictures and take that over to the laptop.  It seems impossible and all I cannot find a file with the new photos.  When I click on the Pictures icon in the left margin, it gives me TWO iPhoto Library folders, and two others that I had created for other photos.  One iPhoto library has just:

    file:///Users/billingtw-M/Pictures/iPhoto%20Library/AlbumData.xml

    file:///Users/billingtw-M/Pictures/iPhoto%20Library/AlbumData2.xml

    file:///Users/billingtw-M/Pictures/iPhoto%20Library/iPhoto.ipspot

    file:///Users/billingtw-M/Pictures/iPhoto%20Library/Metadata%20Backup/

    and the other has:

    file:///Users/billingtw-M/Pictures/%20iPhoto%20Library/AlbumData.xml

    file:///Users/billingtw-M/Pictures/%20iPhoto%20Library/Albums/

    file:///Users/billingtw-M/Pictures/%20iPhoto%20Library/Animals/

    file:///Users/billingtw-M/Pictures/%20iPhoto%20Library/Dir.data

    file:///Users/billingtw-M/Pictures/%20iPhoto%20Library/iChat%20Icons/

    file:///Users/billingtw-M/Pictures/%20iPhoto%20Library/iPhoto%20Library.migrated photolibrary/

    file:///Users/billingtw-M/Pictures/%20iPhoto%20Library/iPod%20Photo%20Cache/

    file:///Users/billingtw-M/Pictures/%20iPhoto%20Library/Library.cache

    file:///Users/billingtw-M/Pictures/%20iPhoto%20Library/Library.data

    file:///Users/billingtw-M/Pictures/%20iPhoto%20Library/Photos%20Library.photosli brary/

    file:///Users/billingtw-M/Pictures/%20iPhoto%20Library/Yard%20Pix/

I appreciate any help anyone can give me.

    Thanks.

You do not ever go inside the Photos library - there are no user serviceable parts in it and if you make any changes of any sort you will corrupt yoru libary and cause data loss

    To move photos as posted

You can move the photos by selecting them on one system and exporting to a desktop folder then dragging that folder to a thumb drive and importing them into the other system and create your album from the last import album
