Q: New HP 27cw being detected as a 'TV' instead of a monitor by MacBook Air easily 2015.

Bought a new HP 27cw FHD monitor and connected it to MacBook Air early 2015 via miniDP to HDMI cable. Display shows up fine. However would like to know if anyone had any issues with this being detected as a 'TV'? or for that matter any large monitor being detected as a TV. I am overall more than happy with this beautiful monitor but just have this nagging bit bothering me. Because right at top right where the display preferences icon is it says 'connected TV': HP 27cw. It is greyed out though (see pic). Also under display preferences - refresh rates - it is showing options for NTSC and PAL, which further makes me think that this might be detecting this as a TV. Any help will be hugely appreciated as I am new to the Mac OS and finding it difficult to find any information on this. HP doesn't provide any Mac Drivers for this monitor (which is strange because 90% users are connecting this to MacBooks).

Thanks!

MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)
