Q: I restored my 6s, now all image attachments in messages will not appear
Hello. My iPhone 6s has the latest upgrade. I accidentally erased something permanently, so I checked to see my last iCloud back up, and saw that it was just 24 hours prior to my deleting incident. I decided to erase all content and settings, and restore from that back up that was 24 hours prior. The phone went through its whole shut down, start up thing, and then i went through the regular steps. Language-english- wifi connection completed, set up finger print, log into apple ID blah blah blah. The phone made it back to my usual home screen, but every single app I downloaded was not available. All the app icons are there, but a darkened grayish color clearly indicating the app is not available for use. More importantly, every single picture that I have ever received or sent in any and all text messages or iMessages are not loading. Theres an outline to each and every one of them, and it indicates whether it is a photo or a video, but when i click on one that indicates it is a photo it says: "IMG_9903.PNG" and below that it says " Portable Network Graphics Image". If it is a video that i try to open it says: "IMG_9881.MOV" and below that it says: QuickTime movie. this is really not good. The reason I had to erase all content and settings and restore back up was because i somehow unknowingly and accidentally deleted my text history with my mother who recently passed away. We had tons of texts back and forth and loads of pictures to and from, and its something I never wanted to lose. So much so that I downloaded a program,"iExplorer" so i could upload the text history with her to that program along with the photos so I could save it to a PDF along with other things in my phone that I would like a hard copy of.. thingsI just need to keep filed permanently. I've been doing some research, a lot actually, and most of the posts i have found are dated back from 2014 and it looks to be the same issue others have had, but maybe a little different. I have tried turning off i message and turning back on. I tried restoring again, I tried downloading some of the apps again which did work but i have tons of apps. I reset my network settings. Nothing has gotten any of the files to load from any of my iMessages, or text messages (when you have a text open, and hit the details button on top right which brings you to all th photos you and the recipient have ever exchanged. Someone please help me, these pictures are very important to me and I will be so upset if I can never retrieve them.
Thank you
BP
