Q: My phonebook doesn't load now to the vehicle (VW Golf GTI MY08 with fiscon BT system) all work fine until I got the watch

Hi all, Much has been said about the apple watch and the changes it makes or should I say priority it takes over the vehicles Bluetooth system.

Since owning the apple watch I have has Bluetooth issues, more so with my phonebook not loading up. All other functions seem to work correctly. My phonebook doesn't load now to the vehicle (VW Golf GTI MY08 with fiscon BT system) all work fine until I got the watch.

Any advise out there or just wait for an update?

I look forward to hearing from you

Do the issues in your vehicle persist only when your Watch is paired/with you in the car?

I suspect either a hardware/bandwidth limitation here, or perhaps a software update for your car's BT system may be required.

To be honest, the Watch does not pair with the vehicle. The vehicle pairs with the phone, and the ability to download the phonebook depends on the setting in the vehicle, and then another setting in Bluetooth when you are looking at the in the vehicle connection.

There is no way for the vehicle and the watch to pair with each other. I would try removing the phone from the vehicle's Bluetooth list, and then remove the vehicle from the phone's Bluetooth list. Do a reset on the phone, holding the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone should reboot. After that, put the vehicle's system into discovery/pairing mode, and then turn Bluetooth on for the phone and follow the on-screen instructions to pair the two together.

I've never experienced, nor have I seen anyone report an issue with the watch and a vehicle interfering with phonebook downloads, and I have an Apple Watch with my iPhone 6s, and the phone is paired to the watch and my Hyundai.

Hi side step,  thanks for your feedback, I don't believe the car's BT system is the issue as it only happens when the watch is paired to the Phone and I have both in the car.

I have spoken to my local Apple store and the person I spoke to believes the new IOS10 with IOS3(watch software)

    might address these issues.

On a side note I have ensured my car's BT system is current according to the manufacturer.

    cheers for the advise.
