I upgraded my Macbook Pro mid 2010 laptop to El Capitan.

I see that it has Airdrop but it does not have the feature: Allow me to be discovered by....

Therefore my laptop is not showing up on my iPhone 6.

Does Airdrop not work on a Macbook mid 2012? (2.4ghz Intel Core 2 duo. 16gb ram. 13 inch)

How can I make it work?

A:

AirDrop does work on a 2010 Mac, but only with other Macs. Using it with an iOS device requires a 2012 or newer Mac.
