Read receipts on blocked iMessage

I Sent an iMessage to someone then blocked that persons number. We both have to read receip option on so will I still be able to tell if they've read the message?

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 9.3.5

Not if you have blocked that person's number. If you block their number, you will receive nothing from them at all.

I doubt it, since the block is in effect. The block is for the communications, and the read receipt is part of a message. The block prevents you from receiving messages, therefore no Read.
