Backup from a previous iCloud backup

I've had iPhone 6 for long time

Had around 6000 songs on it, and it was my only copy because I had just sold my laptop

Connected to iTunes on desktop computer at work for synch / backup, and ended up losing all my music

Want to restore my music and go back to before I connected to iTunes on my desktop computer

Is a backup from iCloud from a previous version the best way to accomplish this?

Need someone to guide me through this and I cannot take my desktop computer to the Apple Store

Neither iTunes or iCloud backups contain music of any sort.

Backing up music is the responsibility of the user. iTunes purchases. which can include music, can be downloaded again by signing in to the iTunes and App store with the same Apple ID used to originally purchase the music.

Your "own" music that you may have ripped from CDs etc. is not backed up by any iOS device backup process.
