Reset Network settings on iPhone deletes Wifi Passwords on Macbook- WHY?

And so it happened again. I had to reset the network settings on my iPhone, and all my wifi passwords were deleted from all my devices, including my laptop.

Is there a way to prevent this? The macbook was my main iCloud device, i.e. where the iCloud keychain was originally setup first.

Is there a way to stop this nonsense?

Turn off iCloud keychain before you reset the network settings. Then re-enable it once you've completed the reset. Otherwise, yes, the changes you made to iCloud keychain on that device get sync'd over to all devices using that iCloud keychain.

Rreset Network resets (erases) all network settings, including passwords. That's the way it's designed to work.
