My iPod gen5 wont turn on

So I've had my iPod for three years now and this is the first time its happened like this. Before it has died and then wouldn't turn on for 2-3 days.

This time when I press the on button the apple logo comes up and loads but then turns off again after a couple seconds. It also wont connect to iTunes.

I can't restart it because my home button is broken.

Try:

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- Try another cable

- Try on another computer

- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
