managing settings on an iPod through an iMac

my iPod touch is shattered and the screen doesn't work at all. is there a way i can log in to my apple id on my mac and manage settings on my iPod because i want to sync my pictures??? i connected my iPod through the usb and it tells me to tap a button on my iPod but thats not possible because all i can see on the iPod is the time.
