Q: iTunes will not sync with nike plus

Recently my iTunes has stopped syncing with nike plus when I connect with my 6th generation iPod nano.  iTunes returns an error "iTunes cannot connect to nike plus.  You do not have permission to access the requested resource."  In addition, when the "nike + iPod" menu is pulled up in iTunes, there is no longer a "visit nike plus" button, only a checkbox for "automatically send workout data to nikeplus.com"

 

Nike plus and the iPod were working without problem until about 2 weeks ago.

 

I'm using:

Macbook pro, early 2015

iPod nano, 6th generation, software version 1.2  

OS X El Capitan version 10.11.6

iTunes version 12.4.3.1
