I have an old (guess about 5 years) old Mac Book pro I wanted to undo, because I want to pass him. But after I have deleted the hard drive was only a prohibition sign icon on reboot.
I have OS X tries to reinstall but it always comes an error message.
If I want to search for a starting volume it has no choice.
I would be really glad if someone could help me.
What is the wording of the error message(s)?
This is the Mac Pro desktop forum. I requested your post be moved to the MacBook Pro laptop forum or other appropriate forum.

Sep 5, 2016 2:50 PM in response to Colin2508by lllaass,Boot to Recovery
About OS X Recovery - Apple Support
and go to disk utility. Does the startup disk show there?
Of so try First Aid/Repair
If repairable reinstall OSX via Recovery
If it does not show in Disk Utility that tends to indicate that the HD failed.
If not repairable try erasing the drive and then reinstall OSX via Disk Recovery

Sep 6, 2016 7:41 AM in response to lllaassby Colin2508,Hello, Illaass
First, Dank you for your help.
I have a question: Is the startup disk "Macintosh HD"?
I tried to repair it, but it seams to be OK.
When I want to reinstall OS X Lion, comes this Massage:
"An error occurred while preparing the installation. Try running this application again."

Sep 6, 2016 8:34 AM in response to Colin2508by lllaass,On the newer Mac go to the Mac App Store and download an installer for Lion or later.
Since it appears you previously purchased Lion, it will be listed in the Purchased section of the Mac App Store.
Make a USB bootable install media using the following:
Then boot the older Mac from that USB media and install OSX
